The practice green

Less guesswork.
More good putts.

A practical practice guide for the three things every putting round asks of you: line, pace, and composure.

A suggested 15-minute routine

Make every minute
on the green count.

01

05 min / Find your line

Choose a short, relatively straight putt. Set two tees just wider than your putter head and roll balls through the gate. Focus on a clean start rather than forcing a make.

02

05 min / Feel the pace

Putt toward a target from three different distances. Aim to finish each ball in a small area around the target. Notice the stroke length that matches each distance.

03

05 min / Add some pressure

Choose four putts and play them as a mini round. Count every stroke, finish each hole, and use the same routine on every attempt. Repeat and compare your totals.

This is a suggested practice routine, not an official EPC event rule or coaching program. Use tees only where the facility permits them.

Read the whole putt

Look at the slope and the area around the hole. Decide where you want the ball to start and how fast you want it to arrive.

Match your feel to the distance

Use a practice motion to picture the pace. Aim to make a deliberate choice before you address the ball.

Give the stroke your attention

Once you’re set, trust the decision. After the putt, observe what happened without turning one miss into a judgment on your whole round.
